Celebrating Age Talent Show

On Monday 30th October, we gathered in the Hall at St Peter’s Church, Henleaze to enjoy an afternoon of talent!

We were lucky to hear poetry read by Pearl, enjoy the excellent songs from the Greenway Community Singers, sing along with Disney soundtracks and finish off with some brilliant folk from Geoff Woodward's Ramblin’ Thyme trio. We also heard track from singer/songwriter Patrick Small who offered to perform on the day!

Tea, coffee and snacks were served in an interval, allowing everyone to chat to their neighbours and find some information about local groups and activities at the back of the hall.

It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying the afternoon, clapping and singing along to the music. Pearl read some beautiful poems she had written for the show, particularly one about ageing that had the whole room nodding along in agreement.

The show was arranged to take part in Age UK Bristol’s Celebrating Age Festival which took place around the city for the month of October.

Feedback was fantastic, with many people asking when the next show will be. After such a fun-filled time, it seems clear we will have to organise another talent show – perhaps in the Spring.

Thank you to everyone for coming along and making it such a brilliant time!
